No alarm clock days

This year I have tried to stick to a no-work Saturday rule, and have done schoolwork and the blogs on Sunday. However, Friday night my husband announced that our son-in law would be arriving to visit Sunday. The problem: I had big plans all day Sunday, and my house was not COMPANY clean. So I spent Saturday cleaning and shopping and Sunday having fun. I had no time left for schoolwork unless I wanted to ignore my family.

I decided to leave it until today.

It was okay.

I think I will do this every weekend that's left this year. Not work.

And I hope you can too. I know it seems like there is never enough time and there probably isn't. You all work so hard and always give 110%. But if you can, I encourage you to take the weekend off. Do less if you can. Take some things off your list. Be okay with just okay.

Even though cleaning my house was not really that fun, it felt good to do something for me. I don't think my house has been this clean in a year!

Besides, it's gorgeous out. Take some time to enjoy this fabulous weather! Cheers to no alarm clock days!

POETRY JAM AND SLAM!

Students, Staff, & Families: It’s time for the 11th Annual Poetry Jam and Slam! This year the event will be held virtually via a Poetry Jam/Slam Webinar on April 22nd beginning at 6:30pm for the TK-5th grade performances, with the middle school and high school performances immediately to follow.

SIGN UP HERE: Google Sign up Form
The deadline for sign ups is April 5th and the deadline for posting videos will be April 12. The videos have a 3-minute limit and we are keeping last names off the Flipgrid to protect online privacy.

We have set it up as a Flipgrid (which hopefully most of you are familiar with) to make it easy for the students to record their poems. They will need to select TK-5 OR 6-12 as their topic.
